According to this statement player participating in the Indian Premier League cannot have the share in the franchises. This statement was given after listing to the rumors saying that Sachin Tendulkar is trying to own a franchise with future group.

BCCI also framed some rules for the players participating in the Indian Premier League . They have to follow these rules to make their way into the Indian Premier League.

All the players have to produce a no objection certificates from their respective country cricket boards to participate in the tournament. This measure is taken to prevent any kind of controversies from their respective cricket boards.

There were rumors that England players are against the Indian Premier league , but after the signing of Dimitri Maskarenus, it has been confirmed that even the English players are interested in this league.
