Performing a good jump or pop off the wake with your wakeboard is not controlled by how fast you cut to the wake but with a progressive edge towards the wake whilst maintaining a tight rope.

Begin by smoothly rolling out of your turn and edge toward the wake gently. It the turn is performed too fast youll find your rope slack and youll be jerked forward and off balance.

Move your weight to your heels and drop them in the water deeper the closer that you get to the wake. You should position your body away from the wake and keeping your knees slightly bent but still stiff. Hold the handle near your waistline with your palms facing down, arms bent and close to your body.

Try to keep your edge through the wake. As you approach the wake dont flatten your board.

Throughout the jump keep your weight distributed evenly on the board. Begin your pop about 2 or 3 feet before the wake by extending your body into a standing position. Whilst you are in the air keep your chest open and head up. Your board should point towards your landing spot. Don't look down.

Bend your knees when landing so that the shock is absorbed.
