If you want to understand and develop your boxing techniques to make you a better boxer then this article will be of great interest to you.
Can you jab effectively? Continually keep by-passing your opponent's guard and hit him (or her) relentlessly? The jab is a great way of wearing down your opponent. And keeps you scoring points in the judge's eyes. How about your upper-cut? Is it good or do you need to develop this so you have a very powerful weapon in your boxing armoury. One which you can unleash and win any fight in the blink of an eye. A good upper cut to the jaw can send opponents crashing to the floor.
Your guard needs to be correct so you can deflect blows away from your head. So you must hold your gloves in the proper position to deflect your opponent's attack. Of course you need to know and use the right guard for whatever type of punch your opponent throws at you.
The Marshall Stillman's Boxing Program shows you step-by-step the right boxing techniques to become a better boxer. Then there's your tactics. Have you gone into the fight with a specific plan for that particular opponent? And is your plan working? If not you need to think on your feet and study your opponent to 'suss' out his weaknesses.
Do you pummel your opponents with a barrage of body blows? Sapping their strength, hurting them, eroding their confidence? Keep up a consistent onslaught and you can inflict havoc on opponents.
Fighting Right hand and left hand boxers have different requirements. And you may need to adjust your style to suit them as opponents launch their blows from different angles.
Also not forgetting your body movements around an opponent. Ducking, feinting, swaying out of the reach of opponents. You need to incorporate all these movements in your boxing techniques.
